Responsibilities include:
- Developing and optimising pre- and post-patching processes to ensure proper implementation without any outages
- Developing and implementing patch and vulnerability remediation processes including package creation, testing and deployment
- Deploying the patches to all the relevant systems and ensuring minimal disruptions to ongoing operations. This may involve scheduling updates during non-business hours
- Scoring each patch based on risks and opportunities to prioritise them. Identifying which patches are more valuable to the organisation than others
- Coordination of patch schedules with other teams such as the patch team, infrastructure management, security operations, governance and risk, and communication of project and operational metrics
- Being able to remediate vulnerabilities. Often it will require more than patches, including changing register values and working with the firewall group. The successful candidate will require research capabilities with intellectual curiosity to figure out how to remediate vulnerabilities
- Assisting in the process for vulnerability and patch management ensuring they are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives
- Updating OS and applications on mobile devices
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed a degree in IT, Telecommunications or comparable education
- 3 to 5 years' experience supporting diverse IT systems, processes or capabilities
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS
- Good understanding of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 and Mac OS
- Knowledge of MDM solutions (Intune, AirWatch, MobileIron)
- Experience with Android and iOS
- A solid understanding of industry best practices for Patch Management; able to demonstrate specific experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices
- Experience navigating the Microsoft Security Update guide portal and interpreting detailed descriptions of the security vulnerability, exploitability assessment and researching reported issues with deployed patches
- Knowledge of various vulnerability scanning solutions, scripting and automation
- Experience with the ITIL framework
