Our people
We operate under strict health and safety controls. Multiple training courses are provided for production and management at all levels of our global staff, continuously improving standards of work at Huvepharma production sites.
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, an environment of mutual respect irrespective of gender, ethnicity and religion.
In 2020, 35% of our employees were women.
Our performance, strategies and future action plans are part of our upcoming sustainability report.
We aim to innovate not only in terms of our products and services but also when it comes to our business practices. Leading a sustainable business means including all stakeholders in the process. We know that having engaged employees with a sense of purpose is very important to the long-term performance of our company.

Our communities
We are very present in the regions where we operate - we contribute to the local economies in a tangible manner and beyond our manufacturing facilities.
We constantly support the communities in which we operate, with even more purpose during challenging times – Huvepharma was actively involved in an ad-hoc initiative to assist local communities in Peshtera and Razgrad reaching out to a total of 4,500 households in the first weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, supplying those in need with food, masks and food supplements. We also supported hospitals in the same regions funding a new Covid-19 laboratory, and purchasing PCR testing equipment as well as protective materials.
Community investments – We provide scholarships and accommodation, and we cover transport costs for students from the Professional High Schools in both Peshtera and Razgrad. We have built sport facilities and playgrounds, and we support local organisations with various environmental campaigns and social actions.
Our initiatives
"Peshtera‘s Enlighteners"
We organize an annual essay, short story, poem or drawing contest for all students in the Peshtera region dedicated to the National Revival Leaders Day celebrated in our country, Bulgaria, on 1 November.
Improving river health together
We funded and took part in the largest of its kind and scale cleanup of the Stara river in Bulgaria in May 2021. The clean riverbed was stocked with fish in early June 2021, an initiative for which we donated 30,000 trout.

Product safety and sustainability are our priorities. We apply our knowledge and experience to provide consumers with a safe and sustainable choice of protein. Our focus is on the consumers of today and tomorrow by increasing consumer choice without compromising the future.
We are helping the world with solutions to produce safe and healthy proteins from happy animals, working to do this in an ever more efficient and environmentally friendly manner.

The company is certified by the Feed Chain Alliance (OVOCOM), we hold ISO 45001, EU GMP, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, Kosher, Halal and
Organic certifications, and we are compliant with national and international legislation, such as the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and FDA (Food and Drugs Administration). In addition, we fulfil the national requirements in all sites of operation.
We will continue this line of rigorous work to emphasise and enforce high standards of product quality.
